The 40-day season of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving known as Lent starts on Ash Wednesday and is a time to prepare for Easter.
As the priest imposes the ashes on your forehead, the words "Remember, you are dust and to dust you shall return" remind us that we are not of this world and one day, the Father will call us to eternity with Him.
We are pilgrims in this post-pandemic Lenten season. Let us strive for holiness and as we walk this season with our hearts lifted to God.
