Peace and goodness, words marked by St. Francis of Assisi, that have a deep and rich treasure of simplicity that reflect the life of the Franciscans. This year, 2026, marks the 800th anniversary of the death of this beloved saint. The Holy Father wrote in his letter to the Ministers General of the Conference of the Franciscan Family, "eight centuries have passed since the death of the Poverello of Assisi, who wrote the word of Christ’s salvation indelibly in the hearts of the people of his time." In Bishop Daniel E. Flores' decree, he designates two pilgrimage sites in light of the Special Jubilee of St. Francis of Assisi: Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg and St. Joseph Adoration Chapel in Alamo. The decree and other resources can be found in the links below. For questions, please contact Angelica Corona at [email protected].
