Sacred Scripture and the Sacrament of Matrimony
Sacred Scripture presents marriage as a divine institution rooted in God’s creation and ordered toward the good of the spouses, the procreation and education of children, and the witness to Christ’s love for the Church.
In this session, Fr. Mario Castro will unpack some Scriptural Themes in relationship to the Sacrament of Matrimony. Sacred Scripture includes many themes on this beautiful sacrament such as Unity and Holiness: Marriage is a union of “one flesh” (Gen 2:24; Mark 10:8–9). Permanence: “What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate” (Matt 19:6; Heb 13:4) Sacredness: The “marriage bed” is to be “undefiled” (Heb 13:4). Mission: Marriage is a means of sanctifying the world through the procreation and education of children (1 Cor 7:14; Mal 2:14–15). Witness: Couples are called to live in a way that draws others to Christ through their love and holiness (Eph 5:22–33).

La Sagrada Escritura presenta el matrimonio como una institución divina arraigada en la creación de Dios y orientada al bien de los cónyuges, a la procreación y educación de los hijos, y al testimonio del amor de Cristo por la Iglesia.
En esta sesión, el P. Mario Castro explicará algunos temas bíblicos relacionados con el Sacramento del Matrimonio. La Sagrada Escritura incluye muchos temas sobre este bello sacramento, como Unidad y Santidad: El matrimonio es una unión de “una sola carne” (Gen 2,24; Mc 10,8-9). Permanencia: “Lo que Dios unió, que no lo separe el hombre” (Mt 19,6; Heb 13,4). Santidad: “Que todos respeten el matrimonio en todos sus aspectos. (Heb 13,4).
